Cool Neighborhoods
               ...where we live

Bungalow Heaven
Nationally recognized as an historic landmark district.  This gayborhood is nestled in the northern section of Pasadena and is a rare and mostly intact collection of over 1000 craftsman homes built from the 1900s through the 1930s. The gayborhood calls this place home because it's charming, has character and ...Well, the neighbors are great!  Bungalow Heaven has been featured in a number of national publications, including The AdvocateSunset Magazine, named this district as one of America's best places to live.  Check out the annual tour and see for yourself.

The Castle Green
This webmaster called this place home for over 10 years.  Why?  Because it's fabulous!  I'd rather walk on my lips than to disclose "age" but this building's been here for over 100 years and looks better than ever.  Built is 1898, the Castle Green is the jewel of Pasadena's Old Town District and is home to a number of prominent gays and lesbians.  (But I am not outing them here).  Take the tour that is offered twice each year and you be the judge!

The Meadows
The Meadows is a small neighborhood of approximately 250 homes that sits high on a ridge between El Prieto and Millard Canyons in the West Altadena foothills. At the entrance to the Angeles National Forest, this neighborhood is prized by its residents as a place to escape the city and enjoy nature.  Many homes have commanding views of the mountains, canyons, city lights, and on a really clear day, Catalina Island and the ocean.  To get to The Meadows, take Canyon Crest off of north Lincoln.  Follow the road as it winds through Millard Canyon and up into the neighborhood.  The Meadows is a very diverse and gay-friendly neighborhood. We currently have a number of gay and lesbian households and lots of great cocktail parties!

Daisy-Villa
Located east of Sierra Madre Boulevard Between the 210 and Orange Grove, near the Eaton Wash, Daisy-Villa is a budding Gayborhood with a broad mix of homes that date back to the early 30's as well as  number of mid-century moderns.  Gayborhood gentrification is well underway here and there is a strong community building.  Check out the local dog park where you will certainly find us on any evening or weekend!

Mt. Washington
Mt. Washington was founded in 1909 as a luxurious suburb of Los Angeles. Wealthy Angelenos quickly snapped up its luxurious Mediterranean Revival mansions, which enjoy splendid views of both the Los Angeles Basin and the western San Gabriel Valley.  (Wealthy gaybors are following suit)  As the hilltops were far too steep for the construction of proper roads in the pre-automobile era, the new district instead was served by a funicular railway up the hill, which had its lower terminus at a Pacific Electric Railroad "Red Car" stop. Mt. Washington was eventually absorbed into the city proper as Los Angeles grew toward Pasadena.

Mission District, South Pasadena
Few cities in California are better recognized for the quality of its small-town atmosphere and rich legacy of intact late 19th and early 20th century neighborhoods and residences. The Mission District boasts a unique collection of shops, restaurants and a Gold Line Station as well.  We like this place because of it's heritage and that fact that South Pasadena also has a strong claim to having the oldest and most historic sites in the San Gabriel Valley...Perhaps that's the draw?  The Mission District is located west of Fair Oaks on Mission Avenue.
