Guerrilla Gay Bar V takes over VIVE Lounge in Old Pasadena - Saturday, April 12, 2008
This is the ultimate "straight bar" with bottle service, a velvet rope and bouncers in dark suits and they had no idea we were coming. For the first time, Vive, got an up-close and personal view of how we party! At 9:30, the line extended around the block and inside, the straight boys and multiple bachelorette parties were staring into space with a look of bewilderment.
Our boys rocked the place and even got our straight boy bartender--Hot, Hot, Hot Mark - shirtless! The dollar bills were flying!
The Gayborhood was glad to see our favorites Pasadena Pride's, Aaron Saenz, Nickolas & Efren, Jerry & Andrew, Chuck Clemente, Louis Stanley, Keith & Bill, Hugo Ospina and Larry Dean Harris and my new BFF, Juan Barron. I also have to mention that Anthony from The Loft Hair Lounge looked Fabulous!
The men came from all over. Laguna, Santa Clarita, West Hollywood and the OC!
Thank you to everyone who attended and a special "Thank you" to Vive for being fabulous hosts!
Guerrilla Gay Bar is successful because you attended! We hope to see you and your firends in April!

What is Guerrilla Gay Bar? GGB Chapters are springing up all around the USA -- Each with great success. Think of GGB as a Gay Flash Mob. The organizers of Pasadena GGB select a secret location, sometimes a dive, sometimes a vibe, but always straight and always without disclosing our plans to the bar. We set the date and time and notify you one day before the event, of the location. We arrive, make ourselves at home and party all night. It's that simple.
These events are making a splash as we crash the area's straight establishments and our numbers are growing. We ask that you wear a black shirt to I.D our numbers. It makes it more interesting and confusing to the bar and straight patrons.
Questions or concerns? Read these FAQs:
Do the bar owners or managers get upset? To date, each event has been met with a positive reaction. Our events generate a lot of revenue for the bars and some bars have requested an encore! Check out the Aug/Sept issue of Gorgeous Magazine. The 35ER placed an ad, thanking Guerrilla Gay Bar for landing at their establishment. They want us back!
What about the bar regulars? Are there fights? Not one fight reported. Generally, bar regulars are surprised but not upset. During a past event, a straight man told me he was happy that no one was "hitting on his wife" and that he thought it was "Great!"
Is this a millitant event? NO! This is a social event and we stress the importance of integration without confrontation. To date, all GGB chapters report a positive reception by the bars selected and we always arrive with a positive attitude.
Do I have to be a muscle boy or a certain age to attend? Nope...Everyone is welcome and our organizers strive to meet and greet everyone who attends.
How much does GGB Charge? Nothing. Zip. Zilch. Keep in mind that the bars we select may have a standard cover charge. We suggest getting there early to avoid lines and a door charge.

Guerrilla Gay Bar IV takes over Twin Palms in Old Pasadena - Saturday, February 2, 2008
By 9:30 close to 150 men in black had arrived and by 10:00pm, we doubled that number to over 300! To the shock and amazement of the patrons and the management, the place was filled to capacity. It only took minutes to see this was no ordinary night. The band, "Disco Diva" caught on immediately! That was all it took and in minutes, the dance floor was ours. Think about it...300 gay men, a live "disco" band and tall drinks! The perfect combination.
GGB III at NeoMeze Lounge & Bar in Pasadena November 10, 2007 Guerrilla Gay Bar storms NeoMeze Lounge & Bar. The PasadenaGayborhood brought in over 250 men, dressed in black and by 9:30 p.m., we owned the place! It was not long before we saw a line down the sidewalk that filled the place to capacity. We were happy to see PasadenaGayborhood faves, Brent Lund, Michael Dilsaver, SAGA's James Pagano and special celebrity guest, Ross Matthews aka Ross the Intern from the Tonight Show!
Thanks to all our friends out there for making GGB 3 a HUGE success. Check our photo gallery to see what happened.
GGB II at the Chalet in Eagle Rock September 15, 2007 The Gayborhood was out in force with over 125 men in black storming this Eagle Rock hideaway! The Chalet is like a small ski lodge that pours fast, hard liquor. We arrived earlier than the regulars and owned the place by 10:00pm. All of our "Faves" were there, including Brent Lund, John & Jonathan, Nick & Efran, Dr. Paul, Jim and my personal new BFF, Aaron (The man behind SGV Pride). Special thanks to local Realtor Nick Cacarnakis for inviting the Paparazzi!
GGB I at The 35er Bar in Old Pasadena July 21, 2007 The July event was at The 35er Bar in Old Pasadena. The Gayborhood took the place by storm, replacing Nirvana on the jukebox with classic Gloria Gaynor and Green Day with Abba. Shock and surprise for the bar turned to a positive and fun time for everyone in attendance. Cosmo's replaced tap beer and boy-on-boy dancing was a first for this legandary Pasadena Dive Bar.
